Susan C.Taylor, MD. is a University of Pennsylvania and Harvard trained physician who is an internationally recognized expert in dermatology. She is board certified in both internal medicine and dermatology and lectures frequently domestically and abroad. Dr. Taylor has been a guest on national news shows including the Today Show, the Today Show Weekend Edition and is frequently interviewed by local medical reporters both in Philadelphia and New York. She has been quoted extensively in newspapers and myriad American magazines. While practicing in Philadelphia, she was selected for the cover of Philadelphia Magazine’s May, 1999 issue of the Top Doctors and has been included in the Essence Magazine’s list of top women physicians.

Dr. Taylor has served the dermatologic and cosmetic needs of the Greater Philadelphia area since 1989. She has practiced at Society Hill Dermatology located at 932 Pine Street evaluating and treating both adult and pediatric patients. Dr. Taylor concentrates on the diagnosis and treatment of abnormal moles, skin cancer, acne, hair loss, and rashes. She also specializes in the enhancement of the appearance of the skin via chemical peels, botox, mole removal, laser hair removal and leg vein treatments.

In January 1999, Dr. Taylor was appointed as the Director of the Skin of Color Center at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center. The Center is the first of its type in the nation. The mission of the Center is the diagnosis, treatment and investigation of diseases in individuals with skin of color, including those of African American, Hispanic and Asian ancestry. As director, Dr. Taylor’s responsibilities include patient care, conducting research trials, teaching and lecturing. Dr. Taylor has been awarded more than 2 million dollars in research and educational grants studying diseases such as acne, pseudofolliculitis barbae (razor bumps), melasma (a pigmentary disorder), acne keloidalis nuchae, seborrheic dermatitis and hair loss.

An active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dr. Taylor has assumed several leadership roles within the Academy. She is Chair of the Women’s Health Task Force, a member of the Health Care Delivery Committee and a member of the Minority Student Mentors Program. She is a member of the Dermatology Section of the National Medical Association and is also Chair of the Board of the Skin of Color Society. Dr. Taylor is a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, and the United Way of Eastern Pennsylvania.
