Dr. DeBrakeleer, a board certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist, is excited to announce his latest partnership with Dr. Kirk Brandow and the highly esteemed Brandow Clinic to perform state of the art cosmetic gynecological procedures. A native of Western Pennsylvania, Dr. DeBrakeleer relocated to the Philadelphia area from New York in 2004, where he had spent the last 10 years with the Horizon Women’s Medical Group.
Dr. DeBrakeleer attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated with honors in 1990. Upon graduation he participated in a one year rotating internship, studying all phases of medical and surgical practice. He then completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at Hahnemann University Hospital where he graduated with numerous awards, recognizing his excellent patient care and surgical skills. While at Hahnemann, Dr. DeBrakeleer had the opportunity to work with very accomplished and experienced pelvic surgeons and urologists, which further led to his interest in pelvic reconstructive surgery and urogynecology.
After listening to women’s needs and health concerns during his first ten years of private practice, Dr. DeBrakeleer developed an interest in Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation® and Designer Laser Vaginoplasty®, and has been trained by Dr. David Matlock, the inventor of Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation and Designer Laser Vaginoplasty. Dr. DeBrakeleer is currently one of only thirty physicians in the United States, and one of only two physicians residing and practicing between New York and Washington D.C., qualified to perform these specialized out-patient procedures.

For years, doctors instructed patients to learn to live with their pelvic ailments because at the time, little could be done to successfully fix them for the long term. Fortunately for women all over the world, doctors like Dr. DeBrakeleer are improving their quality of life. Dr. DeBrakeleer has been helping women in the Philadelphia area for the past three years at his new practice, The Center for Women’s Health in Lansdale and now the Brandow Clinic.
Dr. DeBrakeleer is also an expert in all minimally invasive gynecological surgical techniques. He has performed hundreds of laparoscopic (band-aid) hysterectomies, and other laparoscopic surgeries, as well as hysteroscopies and hysteroscopic removal of fibroids. Dr. DeBrakeleer was also one of the first surgeons to perform out-patient endometrial ablations with the thermal balloon, cryotherapy (freezing) and Novasure electrocautery. He also performs state-of-the-art pelvic surgery using the Apogee/Perigee/Monarch system by American Medical Systems, and is an instructor and preceptor for American Medical Systems to train other physicians in this technique. He is also a preceptor for Gyrus/Circon/ACMI, teaching other physicians how to perform laparoscopic hysterectomy using minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. DeBrakeleer, who is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and an active member of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, and the American Osteopathic Association, follows the mission statement of Dr. David Matlock, the pioneer and founder of the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute of America. Dr. DeBrakeleer has dedicated his life to “Empowering women with knowledge, choice, and alternatives” to live a healthier, more active and fuller life. Whether through his work as an OBGYN, or his involvement with The March of Dimes, Dr. DeBrakeleer prides himself on building strong relationships with his patients, and helping a patient through all the emotional milestones a woman goes through in her lifetime.
Dr. DeBrakeleer resides in Worcester, PA with his wife, an anesthesiologist, and three active sons. He enjoys outdoor activities, including biking, mountain biking, skiing, photography and gardening. He also spends time volunteering at his children’s school and their many activities and sporting events.
